Estuary Perch can be caught all year round and in most weather conditions. On overcast and windy days a very large surface fly popped through the chop can incite aggressive takes. Success can be had on calmer evenings using a medium sized green nymph fished with a foot long semi fast strip with a 2 second pause. On warm Summers nights a surface fly such as a muddler can be slowly twitched across the surface, a surface take with these fish is very spectacular. Use heavy tippets as these fish fight dirty and have sharp gill rakers that will cut you off on lighter gear.
