The new jetty has been completed.  The fixed section has been extended about 6 meters before the hinged ramp down to the new floating section.  The floating section is about 20 meters in length before it turns left at right angles and goes to the North West for about 6 meters.  The floating section has a concrete finish see picture below.

Like mother like daughter.  Two women in nice sunny weather relaxing on the new jetty wing watching their men folk fishing.

Retrieving a boat can be a problem as the floating section is a further 6 meters out in the Inlet.

Fishing Information

Inlet Fishing

It is advisable to fish from a small to medium sized boat, as access to the inlet and the channel to the ocean requires the use of a boat, which can be hired from one of two operators.   The Bemm is famous for bream fishing and anglers travel from near and far for a chance to land a big one.

 River Fishing

There are several places to access the river either at the back of the farm through the walk way provided or from the road into town at Dolly’s Garden, the bridge and the barrel drain.  Above the waterfall near the bridge, the river is fresh water and trout and bass are sought in some of the upstream rugged valleys.

Beach Fishing

Surf or rock fishing is possible south west of the town by a short road tip toward Pearl Point or by boating across the inlet to the channel and surf fishing at the blowhole or at the mouth.
