Creating A Unit Of Work-"Yogyakarta… Kota Saya"

Part One-The Basic Search

Using the IndoLinx main page, click on the Yahoo Search Engine

Type in the word you wish to search, in this case it will be "Yogyakarta" . For a more detailed search, you could have chosen "OR TRY ALTA VISTA" which allows you to search with multiple words. Remember to put the multiple words in inverted commas. For example, if you wished to search for the population of Yogyakarta, you could type: "penduduk yogyakarta" The IndoLinx Search provides a large number of search engines to try.

A/ Let’s do it!

  1. Find the population of Yogyakarta
  2. Find the Mayor’s name of Yogyakarta (wali kota)
  3. Using Yahoo, search Yogyakarta . Yours results could look like this. Now select Cities:Yogyakarta from the results. The first one.

Part Two-Cutting and Pasting from the Net into Programs

Once you have found what you are looking for, you can copy the information and paste it into your word processor. For text, simply highlight it and choose copy from the menu. Next, go to your program (Word or Powerpoint etc) and paste it. For pictures, click with the right mouse button and choose save file as to save it permanently or copy to place it in the computer’s memory. Afterwards you can paste the picture or if you have saved it, insert it from a file.
