One of my “hobbies” is really a vocation. It's my Bible study website known as “Simply Christians Australia Bible Study Resource” or “simplybible.com” for short. Although retired, I still work at my ministry in a largely voluntary capacity, and this website is a major part of my ministry. I do not bear all the expenses, some other kindly people help me with that.
Some of the features of the site are...
A page of Bible maps with information on all the places in Acts. This resource was prepared years ago when I lived in Launceston and worked with the Newnham church of Christ. The resource was in booklet form and called Acts Facts. On the website, I added maps and linked them to the information on the places in Acts.
A table of prophecies fulfilled by Jesus. I prepared this many years ago because there didn't seem to be a really comprehensive list in a very compact format. It was painstaking work to put the list onto the website, but hopefully it will help many who wish to study the Messianic prophecies.
An index to the parables that Jesus told with links to lessons that cover just about every parable from quite long stories to parables in a single sentence. There are also lessons on the meaning, purpose, and interpretation of our Lord's parables.
I've included some interesting work I did on times and seasons in prophecy, in particular with reference to the numbers of days of Daniel and the symbolic “time, times, and half a time”
The more-than-800 pages of the site are fully indexed topically and alphabetically. The topic index is one of the main portals to the site, grouping topics into clusters to allow people to find what they want associatively. This page also provides access to other topic listings and to the very extensive alphabetical indexes.
The site includes a search engine called Finder. This is available at the top and bottom of every page on the site. It searches a key-word database which is just as thorough as the manual indexes. Finder gives results in seconds. This Bible study search facility was developed in Javascript over a full year and I completed it in March 2007.
