We moved up to Queensland in March, living in Bundaberg temporarily until we can move into our new home in the village of Childers. We move at the end of July, God willing. We found this lovely old Queensland style of house in very good nick. Got a lot of charm. Dealt with local bank manager, estate agent, pest and building inspector, and solicitor in Childers. All seemed to be pretty decent chaps. Very lay back and friendly. They made it pretty easy for us to get the house, not like the hassles you get in a big smoke like Bundy. The inspector said there were only two or three little things to fix, and a termite nest at the back fence to get rid of. A good house he said.

I have entered a Limerick competition in Bundaberg. Supposed to write limericks on the theme of Australian fauna and flora. The local poets club is going to judge the competition. I mainly entered because it was free. Forget what the prizes were. I do remember they were pretty forgettable. Here are mine...
Old Goose
Alas for an old magpie goose,
The other geese thought him no use.
On earth he was hobbled,
And flying he wobbled,
For one of his wings had worn loose.
Clumsy Kangaroo
A kangaroo sadly did fail
To hop with his lovely female;
For he did not know
A 'to' from a 'fro'
And tripped himself up with his tail.
Canny Crabs
The soldier crabs march to and fro;
They always know which way to go.
They say, "Let's go here,
Till footsteps come near,
In which case we'll go down below."
That's all my ramble for now. Soon as I get a photo of our new house I'll show it to you. The old house shown in this ramble is not the one we have bought. You didn't think it was, did you?
