
September 2007. We moved to Childers in July, after living in Bundaberg temporarily until we found a new home. We found this lovely old Queensland style of house in very good nick. Here's a front,
(Above) This is the frontage. The front door is not far above street level. In the photo, it looks higher than it is because the path dips down before the steps go up. If ever necessary, the path and steps could easily be replaced with
(Above) This is the back of the house. The house doesn't list to starboard as it appears to do in the photo. I took the photo from lower down the block, so the camera lens has distorted the picture (parallax error). I could have climbed a ladder to take the photo but I figured you'd believe me that the house
One day we hope we can build a deck to have lunch on, and change the steps so that they descend in two stages with a landing half way. The back half of the house is blocked in underneath as a large room. There is a laundry and an extra shower and toilet down there. The rest of the down stairs room serves as a second lounge, an office area, and a work area for our art.

The soil is a deep red loam, so we are glad we've got a space at the back for some vegies, pawpaw trees, and a lemon tree (we have already planted the lemon). There are also two spots nearer the house
