This page provides information about Bairnsdale church of Christ.

Churches of Christ (Romans 16:16) are independent congregations having no connection with any religious organisation, whether protestant, catholic, orthodox, pentecostal, calvinistic, new age, or anything else. Rather, their members are happy to be simply Christians, following the Bible and only the Bible. There were churches of Christ long before any of today's confusing array of denominations and sects existed. That was in the first century. This is the twenty-first century, and such churches still exist in great numbers around the world. One of them is the Bairnsdale church of Christ.

Bairnsdale is a large country town --officially "The City of Bairnsdale". It's down Australia's National Highway One (locally known as the Princes Highway) about four hour's drive from Melbourne. Bairnsdale is on the Mitchell River in the East Gippsland region. A very large system of lakes and natural silt jetties provides a most pleasant climate. We have four seasons, but summer and winter are very mild. Nearby tourist towns like Paynesville and Lakes Entrance attract many visitors. Not far away are the alpine regions and high country, snow resorts, a ninety-mile beach, even the famous Snowy River. Bairnsdale does not have any one major industry, but is quite diversified.

It is a healthy sign in the churches that all doctrines and practices are subject to review in the light of God's word.
