Index 1 for the series on the Journeys of the Soul

soul Journeys of the Soul

A series of lessons. There are several core studies in this series, dealing with the states, journeys, and portals of the soul. These refer to my soul diagram which gives visual structure to the concepts. There is a collection of supplementary lessons as well. The following pages contain hyperlinked chart indexes to the core lessons.

arrow chart DiagramA strange looking diagram of most mysterious things. A spiritual map of the states, journeys, and portals of the soul.

arrow index States of the SoulOutlines the seven possible states of the soul. This chart provides you with a simple introductory study which you can then follow up using the links to more more detailed lessons.

arrow index Portals for the SoulOutlines the six portals through which the soul passes when making transitions or “journeys” between the states of the soul. This chart provides you with a simple introductory study which you can then follow up using the links to more more detailed lessons.

arrow index Journeys by the SoulOutlines the twelve possible journeys by the soul of man. This chart provides you with a simple introductory study which you can then follow up using the links to more more detailed lessons.

soul Core Lessons —Journeys of the Soul

arrow The State of InnocenceThe first state of every human soul —a state of grace, not of merit. All humans rely on the grace of God through the virtue of Christ.

arrow Spiritual Death and Spiritual LifeOf the seven possible states for the human soul, there are three that belong to our sojourn in this life. These are the states of innocence, spiritual death, and spiritual life. In this lesson, we consider the states of spiritual life and spiritual death.

arrow States in HadesOf the seven possible states of the soul, two belong to the realm of the dead called Hades in the New Testament and Sheol in the Old. All souls go to Hades after physical death, but all souls are not in the same state. There are in fact two Hadean states, each quite opposite of the other. One is a state of doom. The other is a state of safety.

arrow States in EternityOf the seven possible states for the human soul, two are eternal states which will apply after the judgment of the world at Christ’s second coming. These two states are sometimes referred to as “the final states” because the other five states will be no more, and all human souls will exist forever in either one of these final states. The only journeys associated with these states are journeys into them. There are no journeys out.

arrow Journeys in This WorldThere are twelve journeys that the human soul can take. These are the transitions that are possible between the seven possible states of the soul. These journeys are made via six events which we may regard as portals for the soul. In this lesson we concentrate upon four of the twelve journeys. These are the journeys that pass through portals encountered during our lives in this present world.

arrow Journeys through DeathIn this lesson you will consider three more of the journeys that the human soul can take —journeys related to physical death.

arrow Journeys through the JudgmentAbout five more journeys that the human soul can take —those which will occur on Judgment Day.

arrow Portals for the SoulStudying the scriptures, we become aware that there are six “portals” through which a human soul may pass on its journeys or transitions between seven possible spiritual states. We have already mentioned these portals. However in this lesson we focus on them.

arrow Three Deaths of the SoulWhen we speak of death we are usually thinking of the death of the physical body. However, there are also three spiritual deaths.

arrow Paths of Grace - The Perfect PathWe trace the ideal path that the soul should take. God has provided this path out of his kindness, goodness, and love.

arrow Paths of Grace - The Path Jesus WalkedOne special human being walked the ideal path, the perfect path that every soul should take. Jesus set us an example in the path he followed.

arrow Paths of Grace - The Corrective PathThe corrective path that a sinner must take who has failed to walk in the perfect path.

arrow Righteous Steps (1)We examine the first steps on that path that leads to eternal life. Each step involves something that we should have done, and would have done, had we walked the perfect path. These steps are therefore also essential in the corrective path of conversion.

arrow Righteous Steps (2)A continued study of the corrective path of conversion and rebirth, to return to the perfect path for the soul.
