If you would like to use Google to search simplybible.com then this page is for you. First there is a search box with instructions. Following that, there are tips for maximizing or specializing your search.
Nothing entered. If you click the GO button (or hit Enter) without having entered anything, Google's home page will open for you allowing you to search all the world wide web.
Selecting a domain. Although simplybible is one website on one server, Google recognizes and indexes the site under three domain names. So if you really want a thorough search of a term, you need to do the search three times, checking a different domain each time, thus producing three Google windows, one for each search. (I know that's slightly inconvenient, but I've done the best I can).
Single word. Type in one keyword such as church or pray and Google will give you links to the occurrences of the word.
Phrase. Type a phrase within quotes (eg "through much tribulation") and Google will give you links to where that exact phrase occurs on.
Multiple key words. Type two or more keywords with nothing but a space between each, and Google will give you links to where these words occur near each other. For example, entering Jesus would yield hundreds of pages, but entering Jesus prophecy prophecies would get you much more specific results.
Alternate key words. Type two or more keywords with the operator OR (in capital letters) between each, and Google will give you links to where any of these words occur, together or singly. For example, prophecy OR prophecies OR prophet OR prophesy would get you more comprehensive results than just one of these words.
Synonyms. If you type a tilde before a keyword (eg ~food), you will get alternate keywords (eg restaurant) included in your search automatically.
Common words. When entering keywords do not use common words such as for and the because they won't be searched for. Only use such words when entering a phrase in quotes. Or, if for some reason you think you need to include such a word, put a + sign in front of it (eg +for).
Quotation marks. Don't use quotes when entering keywords, but do enclose an exact phrase in quotation marks.
Scripture references. Search for scripture references using quotes and the correct abbreviations and format (eg "Heb 12:1").
Titles only. If you want Google to search for a word only in page titles and not the entire text, use the intitle: instruction before the keyword (eg intitle:Daniel).
Advanced search. If you find the above difficult, just simply enter a key word. If you get too many results, click on Advanced Search in Google, and Google will give you an easy form to fill in as another way of accomplishing the above special searches.
Alternative URL. You can select the datafast domain name for alternative and extra results. Google indexes some pages with that link.
Sponsored links. In exchange for implementing your search, Google may add its own "sponsored links" to the results. These are not results from simplybible.com and are not recommended by us. You can identify links to us because they will contain the code /sggram/
Multiple windows. Each time you use the Google box, a new window will open. You can either do further searches in the new window, or keep what you want in the new window, and bring this original window forward for another search. Whilst this is handy, you probably need to be tidy, and not multiply windows without reason.
