List Guidelines

• The structure of simplybible.com is complex (see directory). However, the topic lists provide a simple site map for robots to follow. The home page (index.htm) has links to all topic lists, and these lists have links to all study pages. Thus all study pages reside at a third level, only two hyperlinks from the home page.
• Each topic list page should be limited to less than 100 link references, otherwise robots may not follow all the links. The number of pages listed should be, ideally, no more than 70.
• Links for simplybibleFinder (which contain a query and may confuse robots) should be scripted, not placed directly on the link page. Enter them with this template: <script>new FindClick("","keyword","Keyword")</script>.

Moving Series Lists

It is not advisable to move a series list to a different list page unless there is a very good reason. However, if necessary, do it as follows: First cut the list from one page and paste it into the other. Next, alter the FNI and Tally data in Startup FNI. Now search the entire site (simplybible folder) for the old link eg dlist2.htm#LDays. Click search. Do a Find/Replace on all to change references from old to new, eg dlist2.htm#LDays to dlist9.htm#LDays.

On the old list page leave links to the new page with a moved notice.
