If you had to carry a tired and tearful child around the supermarket, you might find it rather burdensome. Yet on another day you might pick up the same child at the beach and run along the sand to the child's delight. This you do not find burdensome at all, but quite enjoyable. Why does the same weight seem burdensome in one case, but not in the other? Keeping God's commandments is a burden to some people, but it should not be. That's
The commandments of God are connected with the love of God, and this makes them much easier to keep. "This is the love of God, that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome"
Jesus says,"If you love me, you will keep my commandments"
Jesus does not lay heavy burdens on us. And what burden he does lay on us is lightened, because he lays his yoke on us as well, so that he can share our load.
