The State of Innocence —The first state of every human soul
Spiritual Death and Spiritual Life —Of the seven possible states for the human soul, there are three that belong to our sojourn in this life. These are the states of innocence, spiritual death, and spiritual life. In this lesson, we consider the states of spiritual life and spiritual death.
States in Hades —Of the seven possible states of the soul, two belong to the realm of the dead called Hades in the New Testament and Sheol in the Old. All souls go to Hades after physical death, but all souls are not in the same state. There are in fact two Hadean states, each quite opposite of the other. One is a state of doom. The other is a state of safety.
States in Eternity —Of the seven possible states for the human soul, two are eternal states which will apply after the judgment of the world at Christ’s second coming. These two states are sometimes referred to as “the final states” because the other five states will be no more, and all human souls will exist forever in either one of these final states. The only journeys associated with these states are journeys into them. There are no journeys out.
Journeys in This World —There are twelve journeys that the human soul can take. These are the transitions that are possible between the seven possible states of the soul. These journeys are made via six events which we may regard as portals for the soul. In this lesson we concentrate upon four of the twelve journeys. These are the journeys that pass through portals encountered during our lives in this present world.
Journeys through Death —In this lesson you will consider three more of the journeys that the human soul can take
Journeys through the Judgment —About five more journeys that the human soul can take
Portals for the Soul —Studying the scriptures, we become aware that there are six “portals” through which a human soul may pass on its journeys or transitions between seven possible spiritual states. We have already mentioned these portals. However in this lesson we focus on them.
Three Deaths of the Soul —When we speak of death we are usually thinking of the death of the physical body. However, there are also three spiritual deaths.
Paths of Grace - The Perfect Path —We trace the ideal path that the soul should take. God has provided this path out of his kindness, goodness, and love. One special human being walked this perfect path setting us an example.
Paths of Grace - The Corrective Path —The corrective path that a sinner must take who has failed to walk in the perfect path.
Righteous Steps (1) —We examine the first steps on that path that leads to eternal life. Each step involves something that we should have done, and would have done, had we walked the perfect path. These steps are therefore also essential in the corrective path of conversion.
Righteous Steps (2) —A continued study of the corrective path of conversion and rebirth, to return to the perfect path for the soul.
Abortion —What Does the Bible Say? —We look at three of the questions or issues that underly a Christian's attitute to abortion, including abortion immediately after conception.
True and False About the Soul (1) —A false idea about the human soul —that the spirit is breath.
True and False About the Soul (2) —Another false idea about the soul of man —the human mind and soul is the fleshly brain.
True and False About the Soul (3) —A true idea about the human soul —man’s spirit is made in the image of God.
True and False About the Soul (4) —Another true idea about the spirit or soul of man —it is not subject to physical death.
Accountability to God —About that stage in life when one becomes answerable to God.
The Two Natures of Man —Man is a combination of two natures, not one, not three.
Body and Soul —A human being is essentially two things
Spirit and Soul - Difference —You may have wondered whether the words spirit and soul are two words for the same thing, or two different parts of man.
Resurrection of the Dead —We examine certain Bible passages that refer to the raising of the dead at the second coming of Jesus Christ. We especially consider the points made by Paul in his teaching about the raising of the dead.
Inner Being —Today many people are seeing life as a spiritual Path and a Quest
Returning to Dust —Considers the relationship between sin and physical death, and whether life on earth was meant to be forever.
