Synopsis (context overview)

Chapters fifty-two to sixty-six of Isaiah take up the theme of chapter fifty-one, "Awake! Awake!" and speak of hope in Christ the Redeemer, the glory of his coming kingdom, and of principles followed by those who hope to see and enter that new Zion. These are principles such as penitence and faithfulness, justice and mercy, wisdom and integrity.

  • 1. The slaves will be redeemed and clothed as kings (Isa 52:1-6).
  • 2. The good news will be announced and the saved will go out victorious (Isa 52:7-12).
  • 3. The Christ will be marred more than any man yet he will be the King of kings (Isa 52:13-15).
