Gay Halstead Nungurner Press Daughter of grazier Frank Bury, Gay spent her early life in Metung, an isolated "Victoriana" village by Bancroft Bay on the magnificent Gippsland Lakes. Gay published her first book, "The Story of Metung" in 1977 and since then has gone on to write and publish numerous books. In 1984 she received the Advance Australia Award for outstanding contribution in Australian Literature. |
