Like pieces in a jigsaw puzzle that have constructed a funky Jazz-Blues outfit that's bent on Soul connection, the members of Blue Heat converged. It was three years before Blue Heat had compiled th
e material for their CD and after scooping the cream off the top of a well-worked live list, it has taken another 15 months to construct Marooned.
Marooned is a culmination of emotional flavours and musical leanings, strongly based in the Blues. This west-coast American sounding album boasts 11 tracks, and 66 minutes of horn-shuffling, axe-grinding connections that offer the listener a smorgasbord
of emotional tappings.
Marooned is laced with subtle suggestion and vivid truths that at times offer twists uncommon to blues music.
The concept and the title track Marooned on a desert island depicts the facade that seemingly assures, love, trust and safety to those that are socially and emotionally conditioned to succumb to the siren's lure. The sad mannequin epitomizes the false vi
rtues beset upon those emotionally attuned to adopt its image. Like a hermit crab and its shell, it is somewhere to hide, but it is also a trap for both the lured and the lurer.
The album is available for $30.00 AUD
