The Bible speaks of what is conceived and developing in a pregnant mother's womb as a "child" or "babe".
Rebekah had "children within her" (Genesis 25:22)
Job speaks of "the night a man child was conceived" (Job 3:3).
Elizabeth had a "baby in her womb" and had "conceived a son" (Luke 1:36,41).
We can scripturally add no more to that. What is conceived in the womb is a "child" -- a baby human being however small.
It may be that in rare circumstances, we could justify before God an action that deprived such a baby of life.
But abortion is not rare in Australia today. It is altogether common.
Why? Because people believe that early abortion is not killing a child, but merely preventing one from coming into being.
For the first months, what lives in the womb of a pregnant mother is mistakenly regarded as a piece of her flesh, not as a "babe" or a "child" or a "son".
Abortion would almost cease if people came to understand the Bible truth --the womb of a pregnant woman contains a child from the time he or she is conceived there.
